Jim -- Thanks for the heads up. It will give me an idea on what to look for. I probably can get the plastic grips made up. But the brass rivets can be a problem.
Thanks

Isn't it a flat headed brass rivet and a brass washer on one side of the grips with a countersunk hole in the washer to peen the rivet into?

I believe that the green grip is unique to True Temper manufacture. I have one as well. I have always liked how they used their commercial trademark for the blade marking.

The True Temper is staying in the khaki scabbard. Found my "plastic" one and the Ontario machete that is in it will not fit in the khaki scabbard. It should but it is like new and has a very sharp point that I'm afraid is going to rip apart the fabric if I try forcing it in. It kept catching with about one inch to go. Plastic scabbard is dated 1945 also so it would have been a good match. I'm getting too much stuff or else I seriously need to organize better because it took me three days to find the Ontario machete and once I found it, I discovered I lost the True Temper. Memory kicked in and I remember I put it where the Ontario was supposed to be. Getting old, memory fading.
