Wolf primer reliability?

I was at our local gun show today, and there was a dealer selling Wolf primers at $30 per K as opposed to the Winchester primers he had at $35 per K. Has anyone had any experience with Wolf primers? I've shot a bunch of Wolf ammo thru my Russkie SKS, with nary a misfire, but would like to get some feedback from someone else before I take a chance on them. TIA!

The small rifle regular dont work well with ball powder, but the others, SRM, LR, LRM are excellent. I use Wolf for my XTC and LR loads, including my Palma loads.

Wolf primers, be it mag or standard are no different than other major brands. They are cheaper in cost which is a plus. As far as the small rifle mag. primers not performing well with ball powders, that certainly is something I have not heard. Many of my reloading friends have been shooting Wolf for over a year now without a hitch in performance. Small rifle mag. primers and H380 in 223 has not been a problem for my son either.

Wolf SR primers are different than your other major brands as they are made of copper, which is unusual. If one is plinking, one might not notice ball powder hangfires that the SR will cause, epecially when its cold. I first noticed it during a HP 100 yard reduced course match. It wasnt every round but it was often, especially during the rapid fire strings. Quite noticable, at least to me.

Now, I have fired over 5,000 of the SRM primers and no issues at all with them. The LR and LRM are great as well and I have shot well over 10,000 of those with various loads, some with ball powder in my 6XC. No issues.

Wolf primers are all that I have bought over the last year as they are that good, I just steer clear of the SRs, thats all.

Yes, the SR Wolf primers are different, but I thought we were only talking about the SR Mag. primers. The Remington 6 1/2's are in the same league as the Wolf SR primers, softer cups causing the problems with pierced and leaking primers in higher pressure loads.

A number of the long range guys here in AZ are using the Wolf primers without issues. I had not heard of the SR problem with ball powder. But then again, since I have sufficient R7-1/2s for awhile, I'm not worrying about it.

I just picked up a bunch of the wolf SRM's. I've loaded up a batch of .223 with varying powders loads to see how they work. I will test them in about a week. But I did notice my Dillon RF100 didn't like them at all. They would jam, and allow an upside down primer to be loaded etc. I'm usally a CCI man and have never had a problem with the RF100. I adjusted it way too many times. I think I may have to use the old pickup tubes.
