Another nice piece, what are the maker marks on the holster?

How come the WW 1 Gew 98 ammo pouch u. Bundeswehr belt buckle are included?

Nice find in excellent condition. An A block Mauser byf 44 P38 would have been made in November or December 1944 and would be considered late war built.
Please see this manufacturing chart, http://www.p38forum.com/P38ProductionDates.pdf
byf's started 1944 with the O block. I have a byf 44 T block myself which was made in April
of 1944. It came with one mag and I have located another but am still on the hunt for a matching holster to complete my rig. Here is my thread from a few months back. - Bill

Probably would have been issued with a soft shell holster.
Not necessarily. The hard shell holsters were made till the end of the war.
I've got 44 u. 45 dated hard shells.

BTSOM! I'd have to go dig them out of the foot locker and look.
