Looks like a prismatic/angled unit sight for a 25 Pounder. Sits on the calibration flat. I could be wrong of course

I very much doubt that you would be wrong Peter.

Had a win yesterday and managed to change the springs and balls in 2 of my worn out No 4 Singer sights, bugger of a job but the grease helped no end.

    "Sight, Jungle, (Aust.) No.2 Mk.1."

So a simpler, better sealed sight for use in the tropic? Presumably of Australianicon design.

Did it replace the dial sight then?

Thanks for helping those of us who are not myopic sympathize with those who are!

“There are invisible rulers who control the destinies of millions. It is not generally realized to what extent the words and actions of our most influential public men are dictated by shrewd persons operating behind the scenes.”

    Edward Bernays, 1928

Much changes, much remains the same.
