    Humped or what?

I noticed grinding marks under S/N. Were import marks put there?

A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. One of my Cenurty Arms Carbines has that bevels ground on too, it looks to have had some numbers stamped there , and they just took grinder to it (also ground a little of recoil pad) but there are traces of numbers that were there, also had what looks to be a name in front of rear sight( on little flat, scibed in) Mine is a carbine that was reimported from Iseal and has the little import stamp under barrel about 3 inchs from frount sight, also has SN# in stock on left side in front of sling slot.I seen some real bad grind makes on some of these bevel areas on century arms, which were sold by Dunhams sporting goods- hope this helps-Roger

That one has a lot of issues in addition to the grind marks. The type one band is fake and there's marks on barrel and stock from a later type band. The markings on the stock are new. No close-up of type I sight, but even from a distance it looks wrong - 99% chance it's fake too. The front sight has been replaced. The real experts here can probably find more issues, even from the few photos in the ad.

I think the seller is dreaming asking $1000 for starting price, but you never know on GB.
