Britishicon devised something like that in the Boer war with a swag of troops firing over volley sights I have it in my 1905 infantry musketry training manual (Pics A representation of it could not find the pages but this gives an idea) it gives the ranges up to 2700 yards + I think and depicts the beaten zone from the firers also I think it may give the spacing of the hits it is a very oblong beaten zone at that range.

Years & years ago every body scoffed at the Russians using valves in there fighter aircraft from again my foggy memory it seems a valve is about a few thousand times stronger than a printed circuit so whilst an EMP will down say a F-14 or such the Mig will still be flying well thats what I seem to recollect from the article I read.
Actually we had a good chat at the club yesterday about stuff and decided the Germans built very good tanks in the (Tiger) Panzer Mk VI in WWII infact most of their kit was pretty dam good and todays Leopard Mk III looks a very mean beast indeed whilst in WWII the Russianicon's built very agricultural but functional equipment that was easy to work on and could handle the Russian winter not so the Germanicon army's.

Remember, there's no replacement for Infantry on the ground. You can't say you hold that ground until you take it from them...
