Looking good so far. Did these Canadian Accepted rifles have the brass discs in the butts? If so, was there any sort of unit reference on them like you might see on a british or Australian rifle?

Welcome to the forum, all of them has the stock marking disc until it was decided to be superfluous.

Is there a good online reference or book that covers the Canadian markings on these discs? Please excuse my ignorance on this issue, I have scoured google with little result other than a single rifle from the Newfoundland Regiment marked "NFLD".

being Canadian....i know of only the acceptance mark...however with that said only places to find markings id imagine would be the disc and the stock/butt pieces maybe? ANNNND since NFLD wasn't part of Canada until 1947 im not sure what markings they had. You find a NFLD rifle my friend u better hang onto it CHAAAA CHINGGGG lol !!!

i had a chance to buy a ww1 enfield from a commissionaire that worked in same building i did, it belonged to his dad who was in the military. ( not his personal weapon ) After the end of WW2 i think his dad said 1947 a few DND trucks went down to the Brighton Compound Armory and the guys from across said whoever want some rifles take em now boys they are all going away. hahaha the commissionaires father said some grabbed one like himself and others grabbed handfuls. The rest were thrown in the trucks and all taken away !!! I should of got it given the history and the almost guarantee it was over seas i think the rifle was 1916. It had a scope on it ( given it said made in japan im pretty sure not authentic ) and was sporterized so i passed on it.
