    The M1907 sling is still in the US supply system. It is now the oldest piece of equipment still used by the US Army. They are primarily used by the marksmanship folks. The next oldest design in line was US mess kits (1917) but they were phased out in 2005.

    Yes, I'm aware. We've had lengthy discussions on when the canvas sling took over and this illustrates it never really did. Marines did have older kit for ages though, seems the supply system kept it funneled to them after everyone else moved on.
