    Question Hakim parts

I picked up a Hakim last year and have shot it a few times and the thing is truly amazing in terms of accuracy and clearing the benches to both sides of me. I really love it, the metal is all mint and matching, the bore is mirror, but the wood is a little rough and the bands are junk as well as the missing butt plate. Oh yea I don't want to miss the modified top wood, someone modified it to look like the Swedishicon gun and cut it back some, I can't say it looks bad, just not original. If I can find the parts, I'd like to bring it back to original configuration. If I have to buy a junker for the parts so be it, this puppy is worth it. I'm just probing for resource in case any of you fellows know where I can look. I've tried most souces south of the border with no luck, hows things in the north land?-SDH

PS. Have any of you felows with this gun noticed what it does to brass when you can find it? I've never seen a gun turn brass into a victory sign before nor have killing potential should someone be standing in the wrong spot when it makes it's way out.

    Hakim Reply

It is the shell deflector (looks like a handle on the receiver cover) that does those things to your brass. Also there is a guy on GunBroker.com with a user name of "jb573" that has lots of original Hakim parts (Even barrels)!
