I'm back on site soon so I'll try and grab the eBay pics of the scope and chuck them up.
The scope isn't perfect but she will do I'll have a crack of uploading the eBay pics from my iPhone.

The rifle itself is still going through the processs of acquisition and lisencing... maybe a while until the 2 are married up correctly as I'll be making a pass at getting the HT, another early mk3 & a no4 mk1 on an open lisence at the same time... (wish me luck)
Once that hurdle is passed then game on.

Also its looking like the bore isn't so bad after all and is appearing far more shootable than first thought.

All going to plan and in a perfect world The end game is to give the old girl a run at 1000yards to see where it and myself land.
I know I've been good for 700yrds in the past with more
Modern stuff in F-Class so be interesting to see IF I can be of any use with this kit.

Best pics of have of the scope until i get it in hand physically, As mentioned shes not perfect and a little rough but ill still be hunting a better condition one in the meantime also.

how poor of a condition do you guys think this scope is in the scheme of things? optics are meant to be clear according to the seller so if thats factual then its a start i guess.

Rusty cars and bike still go fast.......... need to strip it and stop the corrosion either bead blast or electrolysis then see what you have, be careful on the blast medium if you go down the blast route.

Myself I'd go the electrolysis route, then parkerize or reblue...... below is a link to a ZF4 scope I refinished some time back, not a silk purse but better than I started with.

Mate thats thoroughly impressive considering what it started as, im not as brave as you to pull her down but it does need something done and its in a pretty average state so nothing to be lost (i know a few may frown upon that line of thinking when it comes to retaining originality and such but shes rough as guts at face value and nearly U/S and can only get "better")

I also picked it up for $530AUD considering the accumounts reproduction P14 mounts are circa $380 if i recall i figured i may as well have a crack at it again with not much to lose and it being an original item with rings and the likes alone was worth the gamble.

Now i know there is companies around like Iron sight in the states etc is there any other companies that can do rebuilds/overhauls on these scopes? as there isnt a hope id crack her open myself to have a crack at restoring myself as i can only see that ending poorly.

I would of thought there was a scope repairer down under or maybe NZicon, am sure a few collectors will point you in the right direction, I know a few over here (one has hung his scope tools up AFAIK) there is one in Canadaicon......

Thats a very good price considering....... The only problem is if any of the internals need replacing (they don't make them anymore)

I'd be more than happy to refinish the tube etc but its such an easy process and I've described it in a few posts, as long as you don't get the terminals from the battery charger mixed up its as basic as boiling an egg.

There is a thread on the forum somewhere about pulling one of these apart IIRC does anyone remember ?

I'll see if the bloke who rebuilt the scope from the HT that I used to own is still doing it. Think he retired.
