The serial numebered magazine for L42A1 T32281 has turned up. I do not know who got the rifle from the Bob Faris collection.

The magazine is presently on rifle AT0291, a mismatched 1943 BSA originally fitted with scope 4226 and presently fitted with scope 21094 on bracket AT2734 renumbered to D37789. This rifle was in the ob Faris collection which can explain the magazine mix-up. It was item 211 on Ian Skennertonicon's CD-ROM about Bob Faris' collection. The seller on Gunbroker 2018 AUGUST 31 is Ohio Ordnance Works Inc. of Chardon, OH 44024 Gunbroker auction Item 784080840.

It the owner of L42A1 T32281 sees this posting, I suggest that they contact the seller to try to arrange an exchange of magazines. AT0291 is described as 7.62 but I wonder if it is still in .303 but with a 7.62mm magazine fitted. An ejector screw is still fitted in the body.

A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. For the record this is not a moneymaker, I hope just to break even, eventually, at $80/book plus shipping. In the USA shipping is $5.00 for media mail. I will accept PayPal, Zelle, MO and good old checks (and cash if you want to stop by for a tour!). CLICK BANNER to send me a PM for International pricing and shipping. Manufacturer of various vintage rifle scopes for the 1903 such as our M73G4 (reproduction of the Weaver 330C) and Malcolm 8X Gen II (Unertl reproduction). Several of our scopes are used in the CMP Vintage Sniper competition on top of 1903 rifles. Brian Dick ... I bought the final chest from this lot.

I left feedback in the iTrader section, but I will underline that mcnuttwa did a dozen of us a huge service with his outlay of cash up front and then having to wait FOUR YEARS to finally get all the extras sold.

Wanted to publicly express my gratitude for that.
