Vintage electrodes help

These are US Navy electrodes from 1952 appox lengths
L-5”x1.5
And
L-7x1.5
Also 1/8 electrodes

Cannot find anything on them!

My guess:

Graphite electrodes => arc light
Gigantic graphite electrodes in mil-style packaging = searchlight electrodes

The searchlights sperry and ge are way longer! I thought the same thing!
Still considering that but have no reference!

Those look like the spot welding electrodes we used in the Seabees. But not sure.

I reckon you're right usabaker. I found a manual for the 24" searchlight, and the electrodes are much thinner.

You never know though just because we used them for the spot welder doesn't mean that's what they were for. Seabee are known for making it work. We used inner tubes as catapiller bowl gaskets and coke bottles as power line insulators.

This case had several 24 inch searchlight electrodes in it!
