1893 Mauser Action and Czech VZ24 8mm Barrel

Can anyone tell me if I can use a Czechicon VZ24 8mm Barrel on an 1893 Mauser Action?

I have a great 8mm VZ24 Barrel I want to do something with rather than having it sit idle in my gun safe. Thanks Bill

No I don't think it will work, but I bet it wouldn't be hard to marry up that barrel somewhere.

Hi Steve, Thanks for the information. I'm trying to figure out if I can't find a Czechicon VZ24 action what else I can mount it without buying one of those custom actions.

The Mauser 93 is a small ring Mauser. Your barrel is a large ring barrel. A good gunsmith could turn down your ZV-24 barrel and fit it. But it would cost a ton and not worth the effort.

Hi Brian, Not sure what you mean
I just mean it probably wouldn't be hard to find someone who may have a use for that barrel. Pardon the Hillbilly!

Should fit almost any large ring mauser action.

It can be done - restoring small ring Serbian 1899c with used m1924 large ring barrel.

Beautiful job!! I'd love to have the skills and equipment to do that. I was able to find a large ring but I'm asking the seller if he has the bolt, trigger group, and guard as well.

I don’t have the skills to do this either, but I have two retired elderly enthusiast friends who do. Payment for the work is a nice steak dinner at a local restaurant, and a couple hours of gun talk.
