    Mosin Nagant 91/30

    Hi all,

Wednesday I took out my MN and Brazilianicon Mauser.
I was very glad with the results of both, but being the Mosin a rougher rifle, the results really pleased me.
I haven’t shot it for a while, so I did not expect to do very well.
It is a Tula ‘43, allegedly a parade rifle. Bolt is not matching, but in general it is like non issued. Also with a great trigger.
The first shot went high, then I noticed I had the rear sight on 200 meters
Then I put it back at 100 and aimed at the bullseye and was still a bit high.
The other 13 rounds went fairly straight aiming at 6’o clock
With one exception. On shot no. 3 I flinched so hard that I did not even hit the target. Luckily enough no-one knows

Today I brought the old Mosin to the range.
The weather was very foggy, but in between it was possible to shoot.
Last week I could adjust the front sight and today, with a little time, I got the expected results.
I’ll give it one inch more in elevation and another one to the left, then it should be ok.
The only non-original part is the front sight, which is identical to the original, but height-adjustable.
I bought it from a Canadianicon site, euclideanmachine.com, and it works great.
If you have problems with the height adjustment of your Mosin, I wholeheartedly suggest to give it a try.
The adjustment tool is also very nice, and allows accurate 1” or less adjustment in drift and elevation at 100 meters without any problems.
