    Two SMLE ConD II's

Two more goodies, the first another Poulin addition.

1913 LSA converted .22 Short Rifle Mk III from a 1904 Enfield ConD II. I believe this was an IMA Nepal import as it is identical in condition from ones they had advertised for sale. From what has been available in North America most Mk III's here are Enfield converted examples that are ex-NZ rifles that were upgraded, in nomenclature only, to Mk IV* status in the 1920's (most likely for paperwork). LSA and BSA examples are scarce.

The second, I came across by chance is a rare Sparkbrook 1906 converted example still in ConD II status. Sparkbrook was being taken over by BSA in 1906 making this one of the last ones out of that factory, plus ConD II's that were not upgraded to ConD II* or modified to .22 are few. It is not factory mint, or matching but it is as close as I believe I am every going to get!

    another ConD II*

My Enfield ConD II* is serial number 6446 over x and dated 1907, barrel is matching and without SC or HV stamp. Early rear sight bed and barleycorn foresight. Butt stock and plate from a Long Lee. Interesting rifle without import stamps and I believe still chambered for the Mark VI cartridgeAttachment 88407Attachment 88406Attachment 88408Attachment 88409Attachment 88410Attachment 88411Attachment 88412Attachment 88413

I love those early guns, they look like artwork to me...nothing will ever resemble them again in this world...
