    Indeed. Many wouldn't even talk about it, let alone write about it.
    20 years ago, I met one of the few remaining sniper veterans from the 43rd Wessex Div., and other than mentioning the gallantry of the sniper Sgt of the 5th DCLI, a Sgt. Long, who won a DCM during Operation Goodwood for his sniping and recce actions behind the lines, wouldn't talk about his 'profession' at all.
