Such a strange picture. Seems almost taken on a stage due to the emptiness it transmits.

Almost looks like the bolt is closed on the BAR ?

My cousin spent 31 days on Iwo Jima, landing with the first wave, forward fire control for the aircraft & naval guns. Only 18 years old, never injured nor
would talk about it until about 40 years later.
