is this 8mm ammo ok to shoot in k98?

I picked up some ammo which i believe to be 8mm Romanian, however i examined the casings and they appear to be slightly shorter than the rest of my 8mm ammo. I used a micrometer and I confirmed it was actually shorter. I also measured the diameter of the bullet and it was slightly wider than the rest of my 8mm ammo. Is this ammo ok to shoot?

Pics below (left bullet is the bullet that has the shorter casing length)

    Very difficult to say.
What sounds a bit foul is the diameter.
That would cause me some worries.
.323 should be the right diameter.
I would not risk anything larger than that.
Just out of curiosity, what’s the actual dimension?

Yep, that's fine. That's the Romanian stuff my Mausers love. Accurate (for me) out to 200 yards and surefire.

Ah ok. And you also find that the casing is slightly shorter and the bullet diameter itself is slightly wider?

I have never actually compared them, honestly. But for surplus stuff, it's the only ammo that's never given me issue.
