    Enfield no4mk2 help

Hello my rifle is dated 3/52 and is in good shape from what I can gather. However the only issue that I'm nervous anout is the wrist/forestock configuration.. On the left side there is a gap between the two that I can fit about three-four printing papers between. The right side is up against the wrist nicely. Will this grow to be a problem or is it a problem now? I'm new to Enfields and I want to make sure my new rifle is good to go.

    Any help much appreciated!!!

PS sorry in advance if this is the wrong thread

There should be a gap all of the way around the join between the butt and the socket. About the width of a hacksaw blade we used to say. Enough to allow it to close up slightly in use but still remain a gap.
