Arrow Garand Picture of the day - Bastogne

Bastogne - hard not to think of the 101st but there were two other units there

    CCB, 10th Armored Division
    705th Tank Destroyer Battalion

Here is more on the 101st TRIGGER TIME - 101st Airborne WW2

Mark, Hope I'm not stepping on your toes but I have a few pics from an estate collection that I can add.

No identification on this one but most of the pics in the collection are from the Pacific Theater.

Stepping on your toes? not at all - the whole goal is to promote conservation. It is a very fascinating photo a combat image of a M1C - if you have more go ahead and post them - you can post the Garandicon picture of the day for Friday if you want , just let me know - I have a good one for tomorrow

Nice photo, that lefty (unless photo reversed) has a bit of a reach to use the scope, it looks like he's using the iron sights though. Great photos from all keep 'em coming!

You might have tried already but search--327th Glider Infantry--a lot of information and pictures. My Dad was in the 550th Glider Infantry,17th Airborne.

    Good Luck,

I guess it's possible that the neg was reversed. I've looked for something that would id whether it's right but can't make anything else out.

I'm a lefty and I think he ie useing the scope. Ther are a couple of shell caseings on the floor, the building looks like it might be either a government or commercial/office type because of the size of the windows and the large hot water radiator under and in front of the shooter. I'm not possitive but I think he is a Marine. What do you guys think? Could be Korea....Frank

    Mark,
Your photo actually shows soldiers of the 10th Armored Infantry Battalion, 4th Armored Division, the outfit that broke through and provided relief to the 101st Airborne. My Dad was with the 10th Armored Infantry Battalion, 4th Armored Division, and that photo is one of many in the Divisional history of the outfit.
