    Opinions Needed: 44 dot k98

    All,
I have recently purchased a 1944 dot k98. I will not get it for a few days, but it is purported to have all original finishes, all numbers matching, and no import marks. I am relatively new to k98s, and can confirm some of this with the photos, but wanted those more familiar with the gun to review the pictures and give me feedback. Also, let me know if there are some things not pictured I should check once I get the gun.

    Thanks in advance.

Everything about this screams good to me. It's late war so having "byf" coded trigger guard was not unheard of - factories pitching in to cover production numbers for others. "dot" was Brno in then Czechoslovakiaicon. Various small inspector's stamps (Waffenamts) look good too. I like it.
