I had a beauty here for some time, until I finally moved it along... Mine was a bit later as it was parkerized and was correct to be that way. I always wanted an early one that was back end blue and bright blade. They aren't much available around these parts. Bought this one from a local school teacher for a pittance and he was happy as he doubled his money...
    Regards, Jim

Early grips had eleven cutter grooves per inch which was changed in 1917 to seven cutter grooves per inch which BAR's bayonet shows in the photos

late grips from the 20's and 30's have drawing numbers inside the grips

Yes, mine was good for it's time frame. Those grips were priceless in condition. I found it by an "Expert" in US military asking me if I'd seen the "Repro" bayonet over there... I went to look and was stunned. He actually has a repro so it was neat to see his look when I explained what my new bayonet actually was... Anyway, yes a good example of late first war.
