An interesting location and a divide that should never have happened IMHO.
As I drove through No Mans land under the watchful eye of the twitchy Turk sentries, I could see, especially in the Embassy area as it was then in 1974, the amount of fire that had taken place to try and protect it from capture. Guards jockulating fro me and other British PARA's to take our berets off...........yeh right!! I was there to do a job to honour our Regimental fallen and thats what I did in the correct manner.
Every building ransacked and very sad to see man's inhumanity to man everywhere, including the school. The only peaceful place I found was the CWWG Cemetery I visited on Remembrance Day 2016.Information
