So were you successful with my tip?

A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. For the record this is not a moneymaker, I hope just to break even, eventually, at $80/book plus shipping. In the USA shipping is $5.00 for media mail. My apologies, I should have credited you for that.

Yes, I did it exactly as you said through Chris.

He's a really nice bloke, has the right can-do attitude (when I called him with my idea to buy off eGun, he just said 'go ahead and buy, I can do the rest'!). And he did.

All together it was a remarkably pain free exercise, so thank you for steering me in that direction in the first place

It seems that bringing the rifle from Germanyicon to the UKicon was faster for you than it was for me in the past. Glad to know you were satisfied and got what you were looking for!

I've also seen Peter Laidlericon writing that on the L42/L39/Enforcer/etc thread that he knows where 4T number L-32083 is, which is very close to mine, and given how many No.4's would have been produced per day at BSA, there's a chance they were made on same day or subsequent days.......!!!!!!!!!
And likely may have even been dispatched to H&H together........
