Original Bolt?
Hello. I have the chance to purchase an M1 s/n 1.12 mil (Jan43). The gun appears 100% original down to the small details. However the bolt is a revision -17 heat lot B4C. I know there is a lot of conjecture around the -17 bolts. It appears original to the gun in regards to wear which is virtually none. Could this be correct and/or original?
Thank you in advance!

"...Could this be correct and/or original?..." Not likely. Possible, but not likely. What's the condition? 1943 is 75 years ago.

Finish is mint original condition with the wear patterns matching up. Rear sight even staked. The stock is in the same condition.
Thanks!

I have data on two rifles and know of a third rifle all with serial numbers just past the one million range and with revision 17 bolts. This information
surfaced about twenty years ago. For some unknown reason, right in the middle if the revision 12 bolts, a few revision 17 bolts surface, then back to
the revision 12 bolts.
I have SA 1,010,xxx with a revision 17 bolt heat lot B4A and a SA 1,069,xxx with a revision 17 bolt heat lot R4C from my data
Mr Byrns, can you add anything ?
