    $35 No5 Jungle Carbine bayonet

Yes, unicorns do exist. Gun show dealer had a Poole No 5 paired up with a psudo jungle carbine and I asked if he'd sell the bayonet separate, he said yes, $35 and I accepted. Can't tell what the date is, last number missing. 194, has to be 46 or 47 I think. Came with a scabbard, nice blade, no rust, dirty grips.

They are the sort of bayonet where even an old beaten up one can be restored to perfect quite easily. As shown by Big Duke in a pictorial essay a couple of years ago. A beat up old dog returned to almost mint condition.

    UNICORN #2

Great find! Found a Unicorn I had been seeking for quite a few years this weekend.
#5 flash hider in the white to replace the repro on my 1945 BSA.
I will start a separate thread as I am going to need some advice on proper installation as it
is not even cross drilled for the retention pins. A friend recently found an M39 Finn for
$35. I guess that's what keeps us going.

No, it wouldn't be if it was new. That was done when it was installed and finished.

Never encountered a new one. Don't know if it will complicate or simplify installation but at the $15 invested I am felling almost as fortunate as Aragorn.

Should be easy enough as you can use straight pins after you locate it TDC. An original that's been drilled has taper holes and you can't get them to play easily.

I wish that I could come up on a good deal JC Bayonet. I keep my eyes open. Maybe some day.
