    Just acquired this 1903, should I leave tgecstock alone or?

    As reimbursement for cleaning a large collection or milsurplus arms for a elderly friend he gave me two rifles,
    This Springfield 1903 and a Enfield 1917 which I will post pics of in the appropriate forum later.
    This 1903 has a build date of 1933, was covered in cosmolineicon when I received it. The barrel looks great, but the stock is a bit rough, I am considering refurbishing the furniture while preserving all the original stampings,
    What would you do with this?
