A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. All I wish to know from this excellent book Steve or others WTF is that sniper doing with the muzzle of the weapon in his mouth a primitive de-icer! It is a great contribution to a great not only rifle (Bias here) but weapons system which will sit alongside Skennertons The Britishicon Sniper which has as a neighbour The Germanicon Sniper 1914 - 1945 By Senich

Hahahaha! The image on page 137 is of a good friend of mine who at the time was training in horrendous winter weather. He is crouched in a frozen stream and soaking wet from stalking through snow. At that point he joked about ending it all there and then.
Just a really good pic showing Britishicon squaddie humour at it best.
The other reason is it shows the fore-end on his rifle was a mk2 converted back to mk1.

My five year old son saw that picture in the book a few nights ago (he wanted it as his bedtime story) and it caused a lengthy discussion about why it isn't OK to put a barrel in your mouth. We are both enjoying the book.
