White Letters
Yes, a China pencil rubbed across the letters to fill them in, but then you need to use a rag lightly moistened with WD40 to wash it out of the surrounding Parkerizing.
Real men measure once and cut.

white in numbers/letters
This came from the CMP auction with the white in the numbers and letters, maybe they wanted to make sure the logo etc wouldAttachment 96236 stand out as this receiver had special guide ribs.
