Men of the 5th Infantry Division are rounding up German POE on the Luxembourg shore of the Sauer river sometime around February 15. 1945. The picture was taken about a mile and a half up stream from the town of Echternach, just a few hundred yards from Weilerbach. Just out of the picture was a tread way bridge. The "Red Diamond" Division suffered horrible losses during the crossing operations that stared at midnight on February 7. 1945.
