On Sunday I attended the Lee Enfield Rifle Association's Christmas 'Turkey Shoot' comp (we don't shoot turkeys, but you can win one).
I'd asked the secretary to bring along the club's De Lisle Carbine.

Seriously, I was very fortunate and privileged to shoot LERA's De Lisle Carbine. Not an original, but as someone else posted, about as close as you'll get. Recently refurbished, it was whisper quiet. All I could hear was the click of the striker and pop of the primer.
The chap sitting next to me was actually spotting for me and his words were: "Wow, that's so slow, you can see the bullet going down the range!"
5 rounds of .45 ACP and I never did hit the target, but it was intended for taking out sentries at about 25 yards, not 200.
