Just wondering...
Has anyone been playing with the Hornady .224 62gn TAP soft-points. On paper, they look to be a possible choice for an "improved" game AND target load for .223, or 5.56, in any twist 1:12" or tighter.
Physically, they appear to be a streamlined update of the classic Sierra .224" 63gn spire-point, a bullet at one stage in the early 1970's, used by the USAMTU for "longer-range" shooting in M-16-based "Match Rifles".
I vaguely recall a vintage article in "The American Rifleman", or similar, that detailed a lot of this development.
