    Is it me....

Is it my imagination or what? There seems to be a distinct lack of new input onto this usually interesting bayonet thread

I've noticed this on many of the forums. I think more and more people are migrating over to the Facebook groups.

If so I will be the last man standing. So many things wrong there. I will try and do my part.

The quality of the Swissicon bayonets has always been stunning! (Almost too good to issue).

I find myself drawn to all things Swiss for that reason.

    And to the photo posters.

OK, I will take the bait. This past weekend I organized and inventoried my blade collection. Most are originals, a couple are reproductions (trench knives and the M-1917 trench gun bayonet).
For grins I included my father in laws shin gunto WWII bring back, and my grandfathers Knights of Columbus ceremonial sword.

Hopes this helps you guys get your "blade fix"!!

Not much happening on a lot of the threads. Personally, I enjoy sharing my new stuff on here but I've reached the point where I have most of what I'm after and simply have not made many purchases lately. My purchases lately have involved shovels, canteens and helmets. I still love bayonets, just not much movement there. I think if my memory is correct and sometimes I wonder about that, my last two purchases have been swords. A Germanicon sword which I did post and an Argentineicon engineers sword which I didn't because they are pretty common. My new 1935 Beretta will not be in my hands for a couple of weeks but I did get a holster for it. I'll have to go through my stuff and see if there's anything interesting I could share.

The facebook groups are nice but I don't really post much there either other than answering questions and offering opinions. They can be a bit aggravating because plenty of "know it alls" that don't know a damn thing about what they go on about. And then of course they have to argue about it.

I don't go anywhere near those. I was involved with a Thompson group for a bit. Share pics of stuff you have or had and speak of real experience...and get contradicted viciously...so that ended that. Not much happening there anyway.
    Regards, Jim

I've actually had very good experiences for the most part in the facebook groups. I belong to quite a few. Pretty decent moderators for the most part in the ones I participate in. I currently belong to Swissicon Rifle Collectors, Military Mauser Collectors, Swiss Militaria Collectors, Carcano Collectors Association, Historical Frenchicon Arms, Military Web Gear Collectors, Walther P38/P1 And Its Variations - The P38 Then And Now, Military Surplus Restoration, 1916, Spanish mauser short rifles [type-1 & type-2], Steyr m95 owners group, Swiss and Italianicon Vetterli, Mannlicher, & Carcano Rifle Collectors, Nepal Cache Collectors, Martini Henry Collectors And .577/.450 Reloaders, Star/Astra/Llama/Ruby - Spanish Pistol Collectors, Mosin Nagant, and Swiss Military Firearm & Militaria Collectors. I have belonged to a couple like you described but the great thing about facebook is you can leave a group more easily than you can join it. I join, if I don't like what I see, I leave. Some of these groups only get a post every few weeks or so but others are quite active. I think the worst group I was briefly in had something to do with Mosin Nagants.
