Creative marketing of Mosin sniper parts...

    http://cgi.ebay.com/Mosin-Nagant-sni...QQcmdZViewItem

I love the description the author uses to sell these repro sniper bolts. Sure, the bolts are probably leftover bolts from Century Int. Arm or someplace that closely match the dimensions of the originals, but why does he need to lie to sell them?

Seems to me they'd sell just fine to ppl restoring "ex-snipers" without all the embelishment....

Bolding, blue lettering and itallics added for effect.

Up for auction is a complete Mosin Nagant repro type sniper bolt. Not just the handle or body but the complete bolt auctioned off with no exchange needed. There are no serial numbers on this bolt, so you can have it numbered to match your rifle if you wanted too [thanks for pointing out that ppl can fake up a "matching" sniper, in case the comment about no serial numbers wasn;t enough to clue them in...]. The original PU Mosin rifles did not have matching numbers on their bolts only a very few of the original Russianicon made PU snipe rifles did [really? Wow... I guess the vast majoiry of original Mosin sniper rifles must have bolts re-stamped matching by forgers who bought your blanks then, huh?]. A lot of these bolts were built for factory reproduction sniper rifles that were sold awhile ago.[alot of which bolts? The bolts you are selling, or alot of the bolts found in sniper rifles? Is it me, or is that sentence possibly misleading...?] They are built on 50 plus year old Mosin rifle bolts, they may have some handling and storage marks or some discoloration or pitting on them but they are free of rust. [how can they be rust-free if they have pitting? Or is it just that you removed the rust but left the pitting?] They have an extended and bent lever added on witch is needed to install a PU, PEM or PE type scope and mount on your Mosin. These bolts will not work with the ATI type scope mount. These bolts can be used with the scout type scope mount and a EER type scope witch looks really good, and makes the rifle easier to use than the straight short factory bolt. This type of bolt works better and looks better than the original bolt even you don’t have any type of scope at all on your rifle. The bolts are Sold As-Is in good used condition. They fit the 91/30, M44, M38, M39 and the type 53 Mosin rifles. The bolt in the pictures is the bolt you will get if you win the auction. I ship only to the lower 48 US states. Shipping and handling by US priority mail is $7.50, insurance is optional $2.35.

This is the kind of crap that got me out of collecting U.S. arms! This my friend is the bottom feeder of the collectors world. They did it to the WW II Germanicon Militaria, U.S. arms and now going for the Russianicon market. I'm glad I have a site like this to cross check prior to commitment. My thanks to Claven2, keep it coming-SDH
