New to me carbine with photos!

Hi all. Finally got the time to take down and shot photos of my first carbine. Came apart easy and was pretty clean inside, just a little carbon fouling. Recoil spring is about 10.25 inches. All comments are welcome. Gork

Could very well be the Original rear sight.
Any letters on the left side of the Hammer?

    Gork,
With your Hammer having that X on the right side, I believe it might possibly be one made by Kal Machine Co. They were often found with that X stamp on the right.
They made Hammers for Inland that were marked on the left I.K.
But they were also a main supplier of Hammers for Rock Ola, found marked (again on the left) RK
Plus on occasion we find them with the X that were stamped I.K. but the I is over stamped with a R then the K. Making it a part originally made for Inland, but being over stamped with the R It would have been sent to Rock Ola from Kal Machine Co.

You can see some examples in these 2 links:

    FWIW..
The Hammer Spring appears to be the early 22 coil version. A 26 (Later Style) coil spring would help lighten up the Trigger pull.

I didn't look at the left side of hammer. Next time I have it apart I'll check it out. Any particular number I should look for? Thanks. Gork

Is that a WRA Type III Trigger Housing..... having the narrow rear Mag Wall on the Right?
Can't see the left side. See if the outer edge of the Rear Mag Wall has the same reveal as the right.
Look On the Trigger Housing...... Right side/ Upper left corner / below the Square lug.... I believe I can just see a Faint W stamp. Look near it for a shape like a Cresant Moon.

    Put on your Pic list:
Full side view of Trigger housing.
Straight on Pic of Rear Magazine Wall.
Pic of any markings on the Front Teeth of Magazine Catch.

Look inside your stock slingwell for any letter markings. Look under the bottom edge of the Hand guard for letter markings.

It's definitely a Winchester trigger housing, just based on the number stamped on the bottom of the housing in my opinion. Plus, as noted there's definitely a W on the right side at the back, although it looks to have had a refinish job at some point. So, it's either a type three modified with a disconnect cutout or it's a true type 6. As suggested, a quick picture of the face of the mag well wall and also one of the left side of the housing from the left should reveal what type, but not necessarily with 100 percent certainty.

Thanks for the quick info guys. I'll try to get more detailed photos up tomorrow. Deldriver. Could you explain the difference between a type 3 and type 6 trigger housing? USGI. Is there a difference between a m1 and m2 slide? Sorry about all the questions. I'm learning allot. Gork
