    reblued 1917

Did any of the importers reblue 1917s. I have seen a number of import marked 1917s for sale that look to me like they were reblued. So I am wondering if another counrty might have arsenal reblued them or were reblued by a importer. or possibley I could be mistaken as to what I was looking at in the pics

A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Reblued by a foreign country is possible but I would be highly dubious of any importer rebluing the rifles, know that up to just a few years ago nobody really cared about this rifle, she was the little bastard read headed step child.

Chances could be very good that the imports your seeing have the original blue on them, for some reason many of these rifles that were lend leased, or purchased by other countrys didnt seem to see much use if any.

I have a CAI (Century Arms) Eddystone in the 1.2 mil range that I believe has been re-blued. Should be parkerized and the finish to me seems hot-blued. Other than that, the rifle seems to be in very good shape. Stripped the stock becuase is was shellac'ed with....shellac. FWIW.

I picked up two winchester Lend Lease rifles, both CAI marked, both with great bores and original bluing.
