There is a new issue bayonet that is very much like the HK version ,it looks great and I belive it is made by colt but is not the best steel 440A.

The troops here are still just getting the new bayonets. Actually it's surprising they haven't been on ebay yet.
The real collectors item should be to get the diemaco marked knife. Once Colt is marking them, it wouldn't surprise me to see US civilian sales. There are Colt "Made in Canada" marked AR-15s starting to show up there.

I guess I am now the custodian of my father's RCN clasp knife with the big marlin spike. I think the one he had shows 'Lamplough' on the blade(Italian?); it has the zinc(?) grips. He gave me a Grohman rigger's knife, which I promptly managed to bust the tip off of. (Never forgave me for that). I still have that knife. When I was with the RCR my 'utility' knife was a plain old clasp knife like Camillus sells. I think they also had 'US ARMY' stamped on the handle like the originals. Those tended to grow legs and walk away for some reason. I didn't serve in the Airborne, that was an option to me at the time though. Sometimes I have regrets about it. . . . Regards.
