    Arisaka bolt issue type 38

I’ve just got hold of this rifle as a restoration project, and I’m having issues with closing the bolt fully down. Even with the receiver out of the stock and the firing pin and ejector removes it makes no difference. Tried a couple of bolts from a friends Arisakas and one was the same and one worked as it should. I’m wondering if this is an early receiver and a later bolt?? (it’s mismatched, rifle is probably made up of lots of bits). It looks like a one piece stock, looks like a chrome barrel but I can’t id the marking to the left of serial number. If so, can this bolt be made to work by a competent gunsmith?? as parts for these are pretty rare in New Zealandicon . Anyway, pics
