    Eddystone M1917

I found this Eddystone at a local pawn shop for $400.00. It's mostly Eddystone with a couple of Winchester parts added....Still a mixmaster.

Winchester yellow birch replacement stock. 3/18 barrel. 2/18 receiver. Very strong bore. The parts still have their (worn) blued finish.

I swear Bubba must have put the spar varnish that was on it with a spoon but at least he did not sand it much before he spooned it on.

I stripped it with Acetone and applied four coats of BLOicon and topped it off with a M1907 sling.

Yowza! That's a very nice deal.
I typically prefer walnut but the birch on this one looks quite nice!

If that was around here it would price out at about $800 or $1000 CDN I think...

Now if I could only find me a P-14 that did not look like 20 miles of bad road with a bore to match I'd be set. I have not seen a P-14 I'd be willing to spend money on in many, many years.

It's good to see a 1907 sling set up the proper way. I wonder how many creative ways there are to install a military sling. I know I've seen dozens. After several times offering to re-set military slings to the proper way and being turned away, I've come to realize that most people are very protective of their ignorance.
