Hi Wayne,
I have pictures of 2 T3 SG housings currently locked up in photobucket. Both are original finish and both lightly stamped in that vertical position. Thats why I took pics of them, up until then I hadn't seen any SG's stamped like that until getting those.
I see the stock's wrist area has been sanded quite a bit. A .U. rebuild stamp in front of the stock serial #. So we know this one went thru the post WWII late 40's rebuilds, then made its way to I believe Israel years later.
But I have NEVER seen a serial # stamped on a Receiver Ring....... Has anyone else??
Good Weekend All

Yep,
"The hammer pin was designed to be inserted into the trigger housing from left to right. The width
of the "shelf" below the hammer pin on the left side of the trigger housing was designed for the
stock to hold the pin in place when the carbine is assembled."

Yes, got the chores done, but probably haven't been getting enough sleep. I apologize for my mistake, Wayne. Just last week, (when I was tired, I guess) I mis-read page 1102 in War Baby III and thought it was telling me that page 305, figure 308 in War Baby! was showing the pin inserted from the wrong side. I just now re-read it, and it was referring to the TH retaining pin - not the hammer pin. I messed up, and should have taken a look at one of my Carbines before marking up my book, and challenging Wayne. Thanks for helping me get "straightened out" on this! - Bob

Thanks for all the replies! Yes, all the serial numbers match; stock & receiver. Pretty nice rifle really. I will do a double-take on whether or not I can find that minuscule leftover SG! Thanks for the tips folks!

I believe Saginaw SG trigger housings also had an odder shaped inside hole for the trigger arm, not shaped like the oval ones so familiar to Winchester ( already mentioned above ), but not like say Inland for instance. I don't have an SG housing so I can look at one, but I am pretty sure there's a difference inside as far as the hole is concerned.

Of the 4 trigger housings, the Primes are the 2 on the left. The Steering Gears are the 2 on the right.
