    Royal Canadian Navy using C3A1

Was at the recent Defence on the Dock event in Victoria, BC, Canadaicon and interested to see a C3A1 on display. It was being displayed by the Tactical Operations Group and I learned the following http://www.navy-marine.forces.gc.ca/...nits-ntog.page

Rifle, especially stock was rather worn. Apparently obtained from CFB Gagetown they are currently being sent back for rebarelling. Equipped with Schmidt and Bender PMII scope. Employed without a sling from RHIB or helicopter to provide long range suppressive fire while boarding parties get onboard. Use commercial ammo. Use Nanaimo range for practice at distances up to 500 metres. Due to be replaced "soon" with a semi auto DMR similar to Britishicon L129A1. They would not let me take it home for a play date........

That would make them cast off from the sniper cell, which means they saw hard use. I wonder what the commencement looks like on those? They'll have seen their share of ammo down range. Used from RHIB or chopper...no sling and navy shooters? That should be good...old guns? Would have been interesting for you to have taken out and grouped for a look...

Commercial "What" ammo, do you know?
