    Trophies and Time

Well I had written a long story, but it seems to have faded away....why doesn't this system auto save like Gunboards?

This story is about missing treasure....well silverware at least.
I come from a long line of competitive shooters, my father, all my uncles on both sides of the family...this is about two of them.

Lindsay lost his life in the fall of Singapore, (Alexandra Hospital Massacre) another uncle survived a bit longer on the Thai Burma Railway.
The years leading up to WW2 he was just getting into his straps, having shot with the 24th L.H against the 12th L.H in the Prince of Wales Cup, only to be beaten by the 16th L.H in the finals in 1936. He joined the Boomi Rifle Club and began competing , picking up a fair bit of Silverware in the two short years available.

After my grandmothers death, his trophies disappeared, recently coming to light after another of my aunts was committed into care and her assets sold, the end result being me swearing at 80 years worth of tarnish.

The most impressive is a large cup supported on three LLE's won at Boomi R.C

A set of napkin holders also from that club.Attachment 103921

Another small heavy silver ashtray type from the Moree R.C

Along with a full silver tea service set and platters.

A trophy won by another Uncle,(Harry, who taught me just about everything) who went on to captain Randwick R.C and later became the treasurer of the Victorian Rifle Association, also competed in the Palma matches.

So it's all come home to roost.
