    Sporter 1903 - Serial Number 1285339

I mentioned this rifle in the other thread on these going on currently.

The stock is aftermarket and not fantastically inletted. I may one day Acraglass it to disguise the gaps a little.

The modification to the buttplate is an interesting idea that could have been executed better. I might eventually work on that too.

Looks like a W stamped in the cutoff recess. Anyone know what that means?

There's some rough edges but it's still a fine looking rifle I'm happy to have

Do you ever shoot any of your NRA rifles? I used to shoot a lot of lever and military silhouette matches and a couple of my friends challenged me to a military match. They are both going to shoot CG63's and I thought my new Sporter would be a good rifle to use against them. I usually shoot a NM barreled M1Aicon but I would really like to try out the sights on the Sporter.[COLOR="black"]

Is that the same front sight that was put on mine?

This does appear to have the same front sight as yours.
    That’s interesting.

I haven’t had a chance to shoot this rifle but I definitely will some day.
    I don’t have any guns I don’t or wouldn’t shoot.

I have no doubt these sporters will be good shooters.
