    Information About My Winchester

I have a Winchester that I've had for quite a while and am curious about it. The serial # is 2401XXX and most of the rest of the parts seem to me to be Springfield. Some years ago, I researched the serial # and, IIRC, it dates to around February, 1944. The barrel is marked 2-S-A-11-43. The bolt is stamped D28287-2SA over RE5A (5 not S). The rear sight is stamped NHC. All of the stock stampings except the circle P have been sanded off but the stock seems beat-up enough that it could be as old as the receiver. Any help appreciated.

If you could post some photos of the stock it might be possible to identify the manufacturer
