    To be fair, probably a guy lying close at hand to most of them. Maybe they were still there after he was carried off by ambulance... That would be a dirty job, searching the field for dropped ordnance after battle. Both friendly and enemy would be collected.

    A couple of them appear to have the butt trap open so someone could get to the contents at some point.
