    Turkish K Kale question

I pulled a 1941 K. Kale M38 apart for inspection....most awfully awesome nasty cosmolineicon ever!
Anyhow...that's just an observation on that particular nasty stuff.

My silly M38 question concerns the magazine follower. I think my follower is rusted stuck to the mag spring...It's a bit rusted where the spring slides into the follower tabs and will NOT budge a bit. Asking if the Turkishicon M38 mag spring is staked or supposed to be a tight...really tight fit..or should it just slide out/off the milled follower like a normal Mauser 'W' spring??

    Thanks HT

Get some penetrating oil and let it sit. But even if that doesn't work, is the function affected? If no, I would leave it.

Yeh….I've never seen one that's stuck on....I've used a bunch of penetrating oil on it over the last couple days....it ain't coming off the follower. I fear I will damage the spring if I persist. I came to the conclusion I better stop last night. Don't really know if it works or not....my guess is that it will work. The rest of the K Kale is relatively clean and nice.

Thanx for the advice....I think I'll take it!!

Like another poster said if its not broke. If the rifle functions fine then just clean any active rust.....

Rust and cosmolineicon….cosmoline and rust. Really no rust to speak of on the Turkishicon long rifle(except the follower). I thought the bore was toasted on initial inspection but that must've been cosmoline and dirt!

I don't know if it will work...never shot it yet. My best prediction is it will run like a Mauser...spring stuck to the follower or not!
