First acog

Hello all, I just purchased my first acog and I have yet to take it to the range to zero it. It is a ta31 rco m4 variant on a colt le6920. Does anyone know if it is true or a myth that tapping on the turrets after each adjustment saves ammunition when zeroing? I have heard that it can be a long day at the range if this routine is not followed, kind of like chasing your own tail. I am not familiar at all with this type of "combat" optic ,but have heard once you get used to it, everything else will be lesser than.Any and all opinions would be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance for your time.

Yes I too have heard that the fiber-optic makes it so bright in the daytime it almost washes it out completely.I have got some electrical tape to take with me to the range if that ends up being the case.they say that once you get it zeroed that you never have to worry about adjusting it again, it's just getting it zeroed in the first place seems to be the tricky part. Learning how to use this optic using the bindon aiming concept is going to be fun to try to learn. I'm definitely not used to keeping both eyes open when looking through a scope. Hopefully someone will see this that knows a few tricks in setting one up. I will try using your over-correction method and see if I have any luck, thank you

I’ve always tapped the turrets of any scope after I’ve made an adjustment. There’s nothing worse than making small adjustments which appear to make no change and then the next adjustment causes a huge jump. It’s probably because I’ve had cheap scopes in the past and just carried that habit over to every scope I’ve owned.
