Does this finish look original on this Spanish Mauser?

I’m trying to figure out if this wood finish was done during an Arsenal refurb or if some bubba refinished it?

Here's a live link for the guys... Spanish Mauser M1893 Oviedo 7x57 Milsurp NON IMPORT - Curios Relics at GunBroker.com : 852318729

The blue looks like it was done quite a time ago, there's rust under it on the barrel ring. Not a very good job...
    Regards, Jim

Yes the wood had been true oiled or something...some sort of addition. That can be removed though without issue.
