The bolt is presumably a post-war replacement from the shape of the knob. The funny thing is, the finish on the bolt doesn't match that on the action. Are the numbers on the bolt handle struck through the finish or under it?
The staked pad screws would also indicate post-war refurbishment, which in turn would suggest a rifle that saw a good deal of service in WWII.
Interesting that it has the "Mk.I" fluted trigger. Some snipers were said to request those be fitted to their rifles.
The differing size of the "S" in the "S51" might indicate an armourer making things "tidy" after a replacement butt was fitted, or it might just be a variation in H&H's practice. Someone else might know?

In the not so clear photos of the scope mount, i think it resembles one of the "Italian" type repros which has been worked over.
Perhaps clearer focus photos would be possible?

It the font of the action T ok, it looks a kitts strange to me, but then I don’t think I’ve ever seen one so clearly struck.

Hi Everyone , Many thanks for taking the time to look at the pics of my rifle . are you learned people quite happy that she is original . the number on the wrist is on the bolt and in below the forend .she is marked with a T on the reciever and a TR on the wrist . the number on the scope is on the small of the butt and also the S51 on the bottom of the butt . the box i have is i'm sure a british one though not sure if it is numbered for my rifle . i also have the correct scout telescope ( plus a spare one ) repro sight box, original binos and a nice repro dennison smock.
