    Free Osprey Books

Figure I'd put this here rather than in the media section because more people will see it. Osprey is giving away free 5 books for the next 4 weeks. Just make sure to follow instructions and use the coupon code.

This is their part in helping people get through the current crisis

A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. Are these on the "light" side as the covers suggest?
“There are invisible rulers who control the destinies of millions. It is not generally realized to what extent the words and actions of our most influential public men are dictated by shrewd persons operating behind the scenes.”

    Edward Bernays, 1928

Much changes, much remains the same.

Depends what you are accustomed to. I'd equate them to the squadron/signal "in action" & "walk around series".

None are very large, 80 pages for most, 60-70 for the Cavalry book which is part of their uniform series I believe. For what they are, they are nice. Usually heavy in uniforms and equipment. I would classify them as reference material for the most part. I have a lot of them but just use them for specific things. I don't really sit down and read them cover to cover.

And, where applicable, many have very good tactical level maps.
